iPhone 6 Home Sharing Account Mixup.

I have two Apple IDs: One for with iCloud domain, and another before the icloud era (private domain email). I have been using the iCloud ID for 3 years now. After setting up a few Apple TV 4Gen this week, I can't get my iCloud account to sign into home sharing on the remote app. I get "Home Sharing is currently unavailable. Please try again later".

However, after failing this many times...I tried to sign in with my old private domain apple ID....it worked. I don't understand this. I don't use the old ID anymore. Now, even though I was able to sign in successfully, I still could not see devices because, of course, the all devices in my home are on the new iCloud account. So why can't I sign in on the current iCloud account?

Try the following steps for the Apple TV 4, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.

  1. Restart the Apple TV (Settings > System > Restart).
  2. Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
  3. Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
  4. Reset the Apple TV (Settings > System > Reset > Reset all settings)
  5. Restore the Apple TV (Settings > System > Reset > Restore)
